My wife and I got married in 2015, one year after same-sex marriage was legalized. We both love all things Disney and wanted an Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding. We aimed to have a wedding where everything wasn't quite what it seemed, and we could reduce waste and add personality to the celebration. We were getting married in October, with a blue and purple colour theme, and we wanted to avoid using fresh flowers to reduce waste. Despite searching high and low for alternatives, I couldn't find anything bold enough for me to carry, so I decided to make my flowers. We made all of our decorations, which are still being used and appreciated in our house or as keepsakes for our family members. Nearly ten years later, I can say that our aim to reduce waste and add personality was a success.
